Monsieur Spencer Takes Time Out

A day spent lazing in a meadow beside a beautiful lake somewhere in the heart of France. Wild flowers, the scent drifting in the breeze, the humming of the bees busily collecting pollen, the cows chewing the cud, Chris relaxed on his bed chair in the June sunshine thinking does it get any better than this, yes, he decided after landing a 21 lb mirror carp.

Madame Spencer Takes Time Out

Having had a fantastically busy month of June here at La Petite Maison, Joanne & Chris had time out today to relax in the glorious sunshine. The smell of the lime trees in full flower drifted across the garden at the Manor House, the pool water temperature was 24 degrees and the Sauvignon Blanc was deliciously cold, ahhhhhhhh, bliss I hear you sigh !

Well dont they look smart

Well, they not only look smart but in there new 'Browning body armour' bought specially from the States, Jess & Bonny are ready for the opening of the hunting season. Joanne will be tagging there new protectors with both names and telephone numbers, Tally Ho !!

Hughs Game Terrine

Not a bad replication even though I say it myself ! We just love Hughs famous game terrine and this will be served up as an entree here at 'La Petite Maison' make sure you are one of the lucky visitors who will taste this local treat. Chris has definitely come up with the goods for this one, he shot Pheasant, Rabbit, Quail and Roe deer, minced his own belly pork from a domestic pig he killed earlier in the year, we have just had a slice, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

A Very Productive June Forage

Warm sunshine and thunder storms equals the perfect conditions for mushrooms in our neck of the woods and a mid morning forage produced ceps and chantrelles (girolles) mmmmmmm, now open the sauvignon!
