She glows !

The final phase of pre Winter heating has been completed this evening, a wood burner glows in the Master bedroom, it's just perfect !

Birthday Girl

How she got away with a 43 candle on her cake we don't know, Joanne had a lovely time at her Birthday evening meal at Chez DORMOIS.
It was great to catch up with Jacqueline et Gerard.

At Last Undercoat

It's not pretty just yet but the renovated front door from Normandy was desperate for paint, Chris managed to undercoat between showers. There is glass under the shutters and once the original ironwork is fitted, it will be a grand entrance.

The Lord of the Manor Has His Eye In

Straight back from Provence and The Lord is delighted to be hunting again taking this nice Roe Deer on the first Battue of this season.

And a fox to boot !

Oh, and a 72kg Sanglier !

And a few wild Ceps & Girolles to add a little flavour !

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so they say, the views from the house are stunning as Autumn takes hold in the valley below.

The Manor Lives

The Manor has always been a country holiday home for the previous owners and has never been a permanent live in property.

For the past 12 years or so, it has been locked up, she now breathes and you can feel her sigh with relief, as the fires burn, she awakes to once again give shelter to those within.

Renovations are Underway

Despite having a few problems on our return to the Manor, the major one being the hot water heater failing, renovations are now well underway.

The mini digger has been and gone and all the cable runs for power to the outbuildings and gates have been laid.
