Source of the Dordogne

 Chris and Joanne traced the source of the Dordogne to the mountains of Mont Dore today, it was a glorious day, cold, sunny, snowy with clear blue skies, just perfect weather to visit the mountains in Winter. There was an ulteria motive for the visit, Joanne booked everything for Chris's birthday, hotel, skiing lessons and equipment, a four night winter wonderland bonanza, who's a lucky boy then ?
Check out the 4 * Gran Carlina Hotel, the best in Mont Dore with the swimming pool at 30 degrees and the Jaccuzi at 37 degrees !!

Snow

 What a dump this was, Chris & Joanne were delighted to wake up to this Winter wonderland, the snow continued day & night for three days, just wonderful scenery.

Jacques the Buzzard

 Chris takes Jacques the Buzzard out for his daily flight, doesn't he look magnificent with his Winter plumage !!

Whatever The Weather

 It's always a pleasure to look out of the window here in the Creuse, whatever the weather !!

Timberrrrrrrrrrr

 The last of the big trees is down, the Lyme tree closest to the Manor house was too close for comfort Chris said, he excavated near the house and found big roots encroaching. Not to worry, the three remaining Lymes are magnificent, just look at the size of the trunk in comparison to Chris. It won't be cut up until the Arctic freeze is over, -7 degrees today with heavy snow, only one thing for it, where's the sledge !!

Saint Valentines treats

Chris and Joanne celebrated St Valentines day in true romantic style. Pink champagne breakfast, scallops and roe deer fillet dinner with a lovely bottle of Chateau Neuf de Pape, chocolates obligatory !!

Supper Time

 Joanne takes charge in the hunting lodge and prepares a gorgeous Roe Deer Civet, look at that smile, Chris says food always tastes better when the chef is a happy chef !

Who Needs Hair Restorer

 Chris says that the French lifestyle has done wonders for his receding hairline !
