Timber

What a difference at the Manor, the 90 year old sapins have been cut down from behind the house with the help of some super heavy plant, a great time was had by all involved, after a hot sunny day, all of the dust was washed down with lovely cold BEER!

Chassaing Cheval air show

Lots of military activity over Chassaing Cheval today, both euro fighters and cargo planes probably from the Military base at La Courtine. Not sure if it coincided with the terrorist problems in Toulouse or not but they definitely put on a show of strength.

And then there was Fire

Not permanent but a nice temporary measure, Chris installed a new country kiln wood burning stove in the lounge of the Manor, this will eventually be fitted in the master bathroom. It was great to light for the very first time, we bought this in England before we moved out here and it has been stored ever since, it is now being lit each day to season the casting.

Bamboo and Yukkas

The bamboo screens have been strategically placed to ensure privacy around the swimming pool. Yukkas have also been planted to give some structure and height. Primroses have sprung up everywhere in the garden and add a lovely splash of colour.

The bottling plant is open

This years wine has arrived from the 'Loire' and what a vintage it is. La Petite Maison will be bottling 128 ltrs of wine on site. 64 Ltrs of Cabernet d'Anjou and 64 Ltrs of Sauvignon Blanc, the sterilisation process has begun and tomorrow morning will see the first 42 bottles corked. Chris & Joanne just love this type of work, of course, there is a perk to the job, it's just that you can never remember ha ha.

Tewnty four hours in the life of

Two hedgehogs at La Petite Maison, one last night in the garden and one this morning in the chimney. Not a real one in the chimney of course but Chris swept the chimneys this morning. He then turned his hand to catching tonights starter, two lovely brook trout !
