This is the mark of an enormous wild boar (Sanglier). He makes these marks on trees he uses as scratching posts, the one that did this has been around for a couple of weeks and is estimated to be well over 100 kgs, we haven't hunted him due to the snow, it makes it too easy to follow his tracks, it's a gentlemens rule even though it is perfectly legal.
